Mathew Yglesias needs to read your post on the subject. He says: "I see two main possibilities: You could deny that 'In general, men prefer women who are more typically feminine and women prefer men who are more typically masculine.' Alternatively, you could concede that this is true and yet deny that the observed regularity has any genetic basis whatsoever." Your observation: that femininity and masculinity are such vague qualities that most people don't really know what they mean--if they even really have meaning, doesn't seem to have occured to him.
